Custom Emoji
Custom emoji let you bring your own imagery into Closot — team logos, project marks, internal in-jokes, or anything else that helps people recognize content at a glance. Once uploaded, an emoji is available to everyone in the workspace.
Manage the library from Settings → Emoji.
Add a Custom Emoji
- Open Settings → Emoji
- Click Add emoji
- Upload your image and give it a name
The name is how people find it in the emoji picker, so choose something short and predictable — ship-it is easier to recall than celebration-graphic-final-v2.
Manage the Library
The Emoji panel lists every custom emoji in the workspace along with:
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Emoji | A preview of the image |
| Name | The name people type to find it |
| Uploaded by | Who added it to the workspace |
| Added | When it was uploaded |
Because the list records who uploaded each emoji and when, it's straightforward to audit and prune the library as it grows.
Where Custom Emoji Appear
Once uploaded, a custom emoji behaves like any built-in one. You can use it as a page icon, as a reaction on comments and content, and inline within your writing — search for it by name in any emoji picker.
For page icons and covers generally, see Style & Customize Your Page.
Custom emoji don't render in PDF exports. If a document needs to survive as a PDF, avoid relying on them to convey meaning.
