Change Your Language

Closot is available in over twenty languages. Your language setting controls the entire interface — menus, labels, buttons, and system text — so you can work in whichever language feels most natural. On desktop and web, you set this manually; on mobile, Closot follows your device's system language automatically.

How to Change Your Language

  1. Click Settings in your sidebar → select Preferences
  2. Scroll to the Language & Time section

The interface updates immediately — no restart required.

note

On mobile, Closot automatically uses the language set in your device's system settings. You cannot override it manually from within the app.

Right-to-Left Language Support

For users working in Arabic or Hebrew, Closot includes full right-to-left (RTL) interface support.

Automatic Text Direction Detection

In most text-based blocks, Closot automatically detects whether you're writing in a left-to-right or right-to-left language and adjusts text alignment accordingly. Simple tables are the exception — text direction is not auto-detected there.

Mirror the Full Interface

To switch the entire Closot interface — not just individual blocks — to a right-to-left layout:

  1. Click SettingsPreferences
  2. Go to Language & Time
  3. Set your display language to Arabic or Hebrew

Once set, the full interface mirrors across both the desktop and mobile apps — sidebars, menus, and page layouts all adapt to RTL orientation.

Set Text Direction Per Block

You can also manually control text direction on a block-by-block basis, regardless of your global language setting:

  1. Hover over any block
  2. Click the ⋮⋮ handle that appears on the left
  3. Select Text direction and choose your preference

Always Show Direction Controls

If you primarily write in a left-to-right language but occasionally need RTL text in specific blocks, you can enable persistent direction controls:

In your preferences, enable Always show direction controls — this keeps the text direction toggle visible on all blocks, not just those where RTL is active.
