Page Actions Menu
The ••• menu at the top right of every page collects the actions that apply to the page as a whole. It's worth knowing what's in there — several of the most useful controls in Closot live nowhere else.
Typography
Three typefaces are available, applied to the entire page:
| Style | Best for |
|---|---|
| Default | General writing — clean and highly legible on screen |
| Serif | Long-form prose, essays, and documents meant to be read start to finish |
| Mono | Technical notes, specifications, and anything where character alignment matters |
Pick a typeface at the top of the menu. The change applies immediately and is visible to everyone who opens the page.
Small Text
Reduces the page's text size, fitting more content on screen at once. Useful for reference material and dense tables where scanning matters more than comfortable reading. Toggle it on or off from the menu.
Custom Layout
Opens the layout editor, where you control how the page's content and properties are arranged. For databases, this is how you design the structure that every item page inherits — see Layouts for the full breakdown.
Lock Page
Locking prevents accidental edits while leaving the page fully readable. Content can still be viewed, copied, and commented on — it just can't be changed until someone unlocks it.
This is worth turning on for finalized documents, published policies, and reference pages that people link to but shouldn't rewrite. Anyone with edit access can unlock the page again, so it's a guardrail against mistakes rather than a permission control. For genuine access restrictions, use Sharing & Permissions.
To lock a database's structure rather than a page's content, see Database Settings.
Create Template
Saves the current page as a reusable template so you can spin up new pages with the same structure instead of rebuilding it each time. Good candidates are pages you recreate on a rhythm — meeting agendas, project briefs, incident reports, weekly reviews.
See Start with a Template for using templates once you've made them.
Duplicate and Copy
Duplicate creates a full copy of the page, including its subpages, in the same location.
Copy Link puts the page's URL on your clipboard for pasting into a message or another page.
Copy page contents copies the page's content itself rather than a link — handy when you want to paste the material into a different tool.
Activity
Shows a record of what's happened on this page — the edits made and who made them. Use it to catch up on a document that changed while you were away, or to work out when a particular change was introduced.
Activity tells you what happened; Version History lets you go back.
Version History
Opens a timeline of saved snapshots of the page. Select any point in time to preview the page as it existed then, and click Restore to roll back to it.
You can also open this directly while writing by typing /history on the page.
See Delete & Restore Content for recovering deleted pages and blocks.
Import and Export
Import brings an external file into this page — see Import Data into Closot.
Export downloads the page as Markdown & CSV, HTML, or PDF — see Export Your Content.
Share and Publish
Share opens the sharing panel for inviting people and setting access levels.
Publish to web makes the page publicly accessible at a URL, readable by anyone with the link whether or not they have a Closot account.
Both are covered in Sharing & Permissions.
Move to Trash
Sends the page to Trash, where it can be restored. See Delete & Restore Content.
