Math Equations
When plain text won't do — fractions, integrals, summations, Greek letters — Closot renders proper mathematical notation from LaTeX syntax.
Convert Text into an Equation
- Type or select the expression you want to render
- In the formatting toolbar that appears, click Convert to math equation
The selection is replaced by rendered notation. Click it again to go back to editing the underlying LaTeX.
Writing LaTeX
Equations use standard LaTeX syntax, so notation you've written elsewhere carries over directly.
| You write | You get |
|---|---|
\frac{a}{b} | A fraction |
x^{2} | A superscript |
x_{i} | A subscript |
\sqrt{x} | A square root |
\sum_{i=1}^{n} | A summation with limits |
\alpha, \beta, \theta | Greek letters |
\int_{a}^{b} | A definite integral |
Edit an Existing Equation
Click the rendered equation to reopen it for editing. Adjust the LaTeX and click away to re-render.
If an equation shows an error instead of notation, the syntax couldn't be parsed — the usual culprits are an unclosed brace or a misspelled command name.
