Getting Featured in the Template Gallery

Closot's editorial team is always scanning the Template Gallery for standout work. Being featured means your template gets significantly more visibility — on the Gallery homepage, in curated collections, and in community announcements. Here's what the team looks for and how the selection process works.

The Closot Template Gallery is where builders from across the world showcase what's possible in Closot. Curated highlights include everything from sophisticated hiring pipelines and content calendars to personal habit trackers and freelance invoice systems.

How We Evaluate Templates

When the editorial team reviews templates for featured placement, they assess them across several dimensions:

Value

  • Does the template actually deliver what the title and description promise?
  • How does it compare to other templates in the same category?
  • Does it solve a clear, specific problem — or is it too generic to be genuinely useful?

Build Quality

  • Does it make meaningful use of Closot's capabilities — databases, automations, GitHub or Slack integrations, embeds — rather than relying only on plain text and basic tables?
  • Does it include well-crafted sample data to help users understand how it works?
  • Where necessary, are there clear instructions for getting started?

Popularity

  • How many people have visited the template page?
  • How many times has it been added to workspaces?

Novelty

  • Does it solve a problem that hasn't been addressed well in the Gallery before?
  • Does it use Closot features in a way that feels fresh or demonstrates their full potential?
  • Does it incorporate integrations or embedded content in creative ways?

Visual Design

  • Is the layout clean, polished, and visually coherent?
  • Is the structure simple and intuitive — not unnecessarily layered or complex?

Thumbnail

  • Does the preview image represent the template accurately and attractively?
  • Does it show the template at its best?

Seasonality

  • Is the template timely — relevant to an upcoming season, event, or moment in the year? For example, a tax preparation template before tax season, or a content calendar at the start of a new quarter.

Closot has a dedicated editorial team that curates what we consider the best examples of the platform in action — templates that truly show what Closot can do.

We give these templates extra visibility in several ways:

  • Gallery homepage features — Highlighted spots on the main Template Gallery landing page
  • Curated collections — Themed lists built around specific use cases, such as startup operations, academic research, or independent consulting
  • Social media features — Posts highlighting standout templates to the broader Closot community
  • Language-prioritized rankings — In localized versions of the Gallery, templates in the relevant language are ranked higher by default

Top creators are also recognized through:

  • Featured creator spots on the Gallery homepage
  • Recommended creator badges on their profiles

Featured templates and creators are refreshed regularly — anywhere from weekly to monthly, depending on the language version. Only new submissions are considered at each refresh cycle.

Announcements about newly featured templates and creators are made in the Closot community.

Featured placements are at Closot's discretion. The editorial team aims to amplify as many community creations as possible. Selections are based on:

  • Timing — Relevance to current trends, upcoming holidays, or moments in the cultural calendar
  • Quality — Strong design, clear instructions, and a well-defined purpose
  • Use case — Niche, specific, or high-demand use cases that address real needs
  • Popularity — Templates that are gaining traction or reaching a wide audience
  • Audience fit — Templates that address core workflows for teams, businesses, or important segments of users
