Export Your Content
Whether you need an offline backup, a document to share with someone outside Closot, or a full workspace archive, you can export at either the page level or the workspace level.
Export a Page
- Open the page and click
•••at the top right - Select Export
- Configure the options below, then click Export
You can also export straight from the sidebar — click ••• next to any page and choose Export.

Format Behavior
Markdown & CSV — Regular pages export as Markdown (.md) files. Databases export as CSV, with any pages inside them exported as Markdown alongside.
HTML — Downloads as an archive containing the page and folders for its subpages and assets.
PDF — The most portable option, best for sharing finalized documents with people who don't use Closot.
Export Your Entire Workspace
For a complete backup, use the workspace-level export:
- Open Settings → Import & Export
- Under Export, click Export entire workspace
The archive contains all pages as Markdown (.md), all databases as CSV (.csv), bundled together as a single .zip file.
Workspace export is limited to Markdown and CSV. If you need HTML or PDF, export those pages individually — those formats are available at the page level only.
Only content you have access to is included. Private pages belonging to other members are not part of your export.
Print a Page
Closot has no dedicated print command. To print:
- Export the page as a PDF
- Open the PDF in any viewer and print from there
Alternatively, open the page in a web browser and use File → Print, choosing Save as PDF if you want a print-ready file.
Limitations
- Form views can't be exported. Switch the database to List view and export from there.
- Custom emojis don't render in PDF exports.
- Database views — only the currently active view is exported. You can't export every view of a database at once.
- Long file paths on Windows — paths over 260 characters can break archive extraction. Either turn off Create folders for subpages to flatten the structure, or extract with a tool such as 7-Zip.
