What is Closot AI?
Closot AI is built directly into your workspace — no tab-switching, no copy-pasting between tools. It lives alongside your project plans, task lists, and everything else you've stored in Closot, and it can pull in context from your connected apps too. Whether you need help editing a report, building out a full task database, or just drafting a quick email, Closot AI handles it so you can focus on what actually matters.
Here's what Closot AI can do at a glance:
- Closot Agent — Takes on complete tasks from start to finish, using context from your workspace and connected apps to create and edit pages, databases, and more on your behalf.
- Enterprise Search — Searches across your workspace and connected apps like Slack and GitHub to surface relevant answers, with source citations.
- Research Mode — Conducts deep analysis on complex or open-ended questions and generates structured reports.
- AI Meeting Notes — Transcribes meetings, generates summaries, and extracts key decisions and action items — all searchable from your workspace.
- Inline AI — Assists with writing and editing directly on any page, or generates new content based on workspace context.
- Translate — Converts any page into your target language in one click.
- AI for Databases — Creates databases, auto-fills properties via Autofill, and writes formulas in databases and automations.
Closot Agent
Closot Agent doesn't just think — it acts. Give it a task and it will research, create, and edit content in your workspace from beginning to end, drawing on information from your pages and connected apps.
You can personalize your Agent's name and appearance, and use Instructions and Skills to shape how it behaves. Enable Plan Mode so your Agent shows you a preview of proposed changes before actually making them — useful when you want to stay in control of the outcome.
Think of Closot Agent as a configurable teammate that learns your preferences and gets better the more you work with it.
Enterprise Search
Closot AI draws answers from a wide range of sources: pages in your workspace that you have access to, your connected apps via Closot AI Connectors (Slack and GitHub), and the open web. You can also switch between different AI models directly in the search interface.
Research Mode
Open Closot AI in your sidebar and toggle on Research Mode to tackle complex or exploratory questions. Research Mode is well-suited for generating a deep-dive report on an ongoing project, stress-testing a hypothesis with data from your workspace, or synthesizing information across multiple sources.
AI Meeting Notes
Closot AI can transcribe your meetings and turn them into structured, searchable notes. AI Meeting Notes work with any meeting client, keep everything in one place, and can be queried just like any other content in your workspace.
Generate an Image with Closot AI
Create brand-new images or refine existing ones using Closot AI — useful for diagrams, process flowcharts, visual summaries, and visual notes you want to iterate on with follow-up instructions.
Image generation is currently in beta. Usage limits apply per user:
- 10 image generations or edits per 24 hours
- 30 image generations or edits per 30 days
Limits reset on a rolling basis. If you hit an error while generating or editing an image, wait until the relevant window has reset and try again.
Closot AI Inline
Closot AI integrates directly into the writing experience on any page. Highlight a block of text or press Space on an empty line to get started. From there, you can:
- Add a summary or translate the page's content
- Fix grammar, change the tone, or adjust the length of a selected section
- Generate new content — outlines, email drafts, tables, and more
- Brainstorm ideas around any topic
You can @-mention a specific page or person in your query to give Closot AI relevant context. When Closot AI generates or edits content, you'll see options to Accept, Discard, or Try again.
AI Blocks
An AI Block powers an entire block with Closot AI. Type /AI Block on any page, then write a prompt describing what you want generated. You can create custom outputs, pull a summary of the current page, or extract key points.
For custom outputs, be as specific as possible: describe the goal, any constraints, and the format you want. Use @-mentions to reference people, pages, or dates. Click Specified context to select workspace content or connected app data that Closot AI should prioritize. Under Search, choose any additional sources to include.
Once your setup is ready, click Done → Generate to produce the content. AI Blocks are persistent — click Generate again at any time to refresh the output. Edit your AI Block configuration by selecting the slider icon inside the block.
Translate a Page
Go to ••• at the top of any page → Translate, choose your target language, and Closot AI handles the rest. You can also open a chat with your Agent and say "Translate this page" for the same result.
Closot AI for Databases
Closot AI can scaffold entire databases — complete with views, properties, and relations to other databases — and then populate individual database pages with summaries, keywords, and other contextual information. If a database includes a formula property, Closot AI can write or edit those formulas too.
Closot AI Settings
Workspace owners can go to Settings → Closot AI to manage the following:

Closot AI Keyboard Shortcut
Press Shift + Cmd/Ctrl + J from anywhere on your desktop to open Closot AI instantly — even when you're not actively working in a Closot page. To change this shortcut, go to Settings → Preferences and update the field next to Keyboard shortcut for Closot AI.
Data & Privacy
Closot takes data security seriously. Your feedback on AI responses (thumbs up / thumbs down) is shared with the Closot team to improve the experience — it is not used to train the AI model. For full details on how Closot AI handles your data, refer to the Closot security and privacy documentation.
